WallyBot AI Becoming a Key Resource for MTI Members

Posted By: Tom Morrison Community,

One of the biggest challenges in the internet age is getting good answers to key issues or problems, fast. Whether you are an owner, manager, or furnace operator, you could spend hours, and even days, looking through billions of pages of Google searches for information.

In 2024, MTI invested in AI technology that is now wrapped around MTI’s website, HeatTreat.net. This technology is called WallyBot, in honor of our long-time Member, Wally Bamford, who donated $1,000,000 in Canadian dollars to the MTI Educational Foundation. WallyBot provides Members an incredible resource of knowledge to get key answers to an array of questions on operations, production, industry 4.0, automation, safety, HR, and quality.  MTI’s management team and AI Task Force is continually pushing in content and data for WallyBot to be trained on to expand the knowledge base.

Here are a number of questions that have been asked the last several months that have been an immediate resource to members:

  • Write me a Safety Management Policy.
  • What are the keys to Nadcap Audit Compliance?
  • What are the keys to fire suppression in a heat treat plant?
  • What are the keys to minimizing downtime in heat treat furnaces?
  • What are key elements to make our heat treat line more efficient?
  • What are the keys to data acquisition in heat treating?
  • What are the keys to conserving energy in a heat treat plant?

WallyBot has been trained on all information that has been written in over 1,300 articles on its website, including the technical video recordings from over 70 Furnaces North America Technical Sessions.

Try it out today…go to HeatTreat.net, click on WallyBot at the top of the page, and ask WallyBot your question.

Key Tip:  AI is not like Google where you can type in one word and get an answer. Like the questions above, ask a question of WallyBot and test it out.

If you have any questions on WallyBot, feel free to contact MTI at info@heattreat.net.
