MTI Members Meet at NADCAP

Posted By: Tom Morrison Community,

MTI Members from across North America convened in Garden Grove, California this week to meet as a group during the 2023 February NADCAP Meeting.  MTI hosted a general meeting on February 27 to discuss a series of key items on the NADCAP agenda, review ballots in process to make changes to the AC7102 checklist, as well as discuss technical specifications being reviewed by the AMEC Committee.

The AMEC Committee, a committee within the SAE structure, is the committee who reviews and designs the aerospace specifications that NADCAP audits to.

On the second night, MTI also hosted a networking event for all members in attendance to come together and discuss they key agenda items from the first day.

Key elements discussed throughout the event were:

-       Auditor consistency

-       Process for Potential Product Impact Audit Advisories

-       AC7102/8 checklist ballot

-       AC7102/2 checklist ballot

-       AC7102/4 checklist ballot

-       OP 1110 mode limits

-       Auditor training and methodologies

-       How to make the post audit survey more effective

Members in attendance stated, “It was energizing and informative to be connected and meeting with other MTI members at the NADCAP meeting.  To be able to discuss real-time best practices and hear how others are approaching audit compliance is invaluable.  NADCAP doesn’t start and stop with your actual audit.  It is a year round process of involvement within NADCAP meetings, where we come together as members to debate and weigh in on the audit process, making sure the requirements meet the goals of safety and quality, without being over burdensome to the process.  Any heat treater who is NADCAP accredited, who is not in attendance at the meetings is missing out.”
