During the three days, MTI Members engaged in two high-energy networking dinners and numerous education sessions. This allowed many first-timers and attendees the opportunity to meet key executives and CEOs; connecting on common challenges and solutions.

To cap off the meeting, MTI’s final night dinner hosted the 2023 YES Management Training program’s graduation and MTI’s Service and Leadership Awards. There were 34 heat treating executives that graduated this year’s YES program, and 8 companies/individuals were recognized for their outstanding service to the industry and MTI.

During dinner, MTI Educational Foundation Chair, Buster Crossley, shared an update on the Foundation.  Mr. Crossley introduced MTI Past President, Wally Bamford, to say a few words on what MTI meant to him over his life in the heat treating industry.  Wally announced during his comments that he would be donating $1,000,000 in Canadian funds to the Educational Foundation to help them further their purpose and mission.  Wally shared, "I'm excited to donate an amount that can have a lasting impact on the Foundation and the heat treating industry and would encourage others to do the same."

MTI Educational Foundation Chair Buster Crossley stated, “Wally Bamford’s incredible donation is a game changer for MTI and the Foundation.  It will allow our leadership to continue to create big solutions for the challenges we face as heat treaters.  MTI greatly appreciates the generosity of Wally.”
