MTI and Furnaces North America Announce NEW Industry Award

Posted By: Tom Morrison Community,

Metal Treating Institute, the largest nonprofit network of commercial heat treaters in the world and Furnaces North America, North America’s largest heat treat only trade show and technical conference, is excited to announce it has established a new honorary award for the heat treating industry.

During the Metal Treating Institute’s 2021 Fall Board meeting, the MTI Awards Committee, chaired by Jim Oakes from Super Systems, recommended to the Board the idea of recognizing an individual within the industry who has had a significant impact on the heat treating industry over the last five years.  As the producer of FNA, the MTI Board was in full agreement and approved to move forward with the award.

Awards Committee Chair, Jim Oakes, stated “There are so many amazing professionals from every aspect of heat treating who are doing incredible things in the industry with innovation, technology, and education.  FNA wants to award an individual for their passion, persistence, and hard work within the industry at each FNA show, starting in 2022.  MTI and FNA are very excited about showcasing people’s efforts in the industry.”

The FNA Industry Award will be given to an individual in recognition of their contribution(s) and current/ongoing commitment to the betterment of the heat treating industry with one or more significant accomplishments in the last 5 years. Any commercial or captive heat treater, supplier, consultant, or educator, working in the North American heat treat industry is eligible for this award.

The award will be presented at the FNA 2022 Opening Night Kickoff Reception.

Nominating someone is easy.  Simply go to www.FurnacesNorthAmerica.com and click on the “FNA Industry Award” icon on the front page and complete the nomination form.  The nominee will be sent a nominee information form for the FNA Awards Committee to consider their nomination.
