MTI Spring Meeting a HUGE Success

Posted By: Tom Morrison Community,

This past week, over 130 attendees from 19 states and Mexico converged on Amelia Island, Florida for three days of exciting education, networking, and plenty of sunshine. Attendees enjoyed a series of expert speakers, nightly social events, a highly engaging and interactive Foundation Fundraiser, and a spouse event that gave back to a local charity.

Members were energized by the incredible location, the Amelia Island Omni Beach Resort, and almost everyone expressed the same comments during the event, “It feels so amazing to be able to see people face-to-face and discuss industry issues in person with people who know what we are going through.”

Members shared how the meeting helped them feel reenergized, and it refueled and revitalized their perspectives going back to their plants with a renewed passion and fresh ideas.  Many members stated this was one of the best meetings they have ever attended.

The general sessions were highly informative with focus on time management/scheduling, data metrics that drive your profits and production, the new norms post-Covid, and how to not give up on your goals and plans. The general sessions were capped off by Navy Seal Team 6 Leader, Rob O’Neill, who electrified the crowd with his amazing stories from his over 400 missions in the Navy.

MTI Educational Foundation Chair, Buster Crossley from Texas Heat Treating, announced at the final night dinner that the Amazing Race Fundraiser held during the Spring Meeting raised $13,000 for the Foundation. The Foundation would like to thank the fundraiser sponsors:

  • Aerospace Testing & Pyrometry
  • AFC-Holcroft
  • Avion Manufacturing
  • BOS Services
  • Gasbarre Thermal Processing Systems
  • Southwest Metal Treating Corp.
  • Super Systems
  • Tri City Heat Treating

Through their sponsorships, 100% of the member proceeds go to helping the Foundation provide scholarships to our next generation of workers.

Not to be outdone, the spouses gathered to paint pottery to donate to a local assisted living facility. The local charity serves seniors who have very little visitation from their friends or family. Spouses painted over 40 pieces that were donated to the facility. We know there will be many smiles as they use each hand crafted plate and bowl. Thank you to all the spouses who participated.

As with any MTI meeting, there is a deep connection that takes place at the nightly dinner and networking receptions, allowing members to discuss what they learned from the speakers, as well as sharing memories and lots of laughs.
